The 287 is a Heavy Duty Constant Mesh PTO for 10-Bolt applications on Allison and Caterpillar transmissions. Built on the 280 Series platform with a 390 lb-ft continuous duty torque rating, it can handle the most demanding applications in its class.
The Chelsea 287 Series is a constant mesh PTO utilizing the best of our technology and innovations from our current PTOs. The 287 Series employs wider gears and higher capacity bearings to provide a single continuous duty torque rating – no more intermittent rating – for the most rugged applications. Pump clearance issues have been improved with rotatable cast iron flanges, and the Wet Spline output option provides 7 to 10 times greater shaft life increase productivity. The standard output shaft features a new positive stop for driveline outputs that eliminates the ability for shaft couplings to damage oil seals. Our broad coverage of nine speed ratios, three assembly arrangements, and nine output options provide the most versatility with the most power for any 10-Bolt application. Versatility, power, ease of maintenance and installation makes the 287 Series the only choice for all On-Road and Off-Road truck applications.
